In-line Controlled Actuation Speed (CAS) Device
For Integra® Valves

Fixed orifice device that slows the opening and closing of valve, minimizing particle generation.
Controlled actuation of pneumatic valves also reduces the hydraulic shock distributed within a system due to typical fast action designs.
Precision-cut sapphire orifice with a 25 micron PVDF filter membrane housed in a PVDF material fitting.
Compatible with all existing pneumatic Integra® valve designs.
Easily threaded into the existing valve pilot port.

The CAS device is a fixed orifice device and is not adjustable. It controls the speed at which the pilot air comes into the pneumatic valve. To slow valve actuation speed when the valve opens or closes, insert the device in the pilot pressure supply port as shown.

Use of 1/4" O.D. tube for pilot pressure supply line is recommended. The CAS device has 1/8" MNPT × 1/8" FNPT threads. The MNPT side of the CAS device is threaded into the FNPT pneumatic pilot port and attaches to the 1/8" FNPT pneumatic pilot port. Use clean dry filtered air and a maximum pore size filter of 45 microns.

WARNING: Applying pressure in excess of 80 PSIG could cause the component parts to eject from the housing or the housing to burst, causing possible bodily harm.

Specifications

Pressure: 80 PSIG (551.6 kPa) maximum pressure
Temperature: 150°F (65°C) maximum
Materials: Exterior parts are PVDF. Interior parts are PVDF and Sapphire.

Note: Use clean dry air and a maximum pore size filter of 45 microns. Use a 1/4" (6.4 mm) O.D. tube for pilot pressure supply line.

Performance Data (Reference Only)

Time for actuation speed is approximate (± 30%)
Total Elapsed Time  =  Hesitation Time  +  Travel Time
Total Elapsed Time = Time when pilot pressure is applied to completion of valve opening or closing.
Hesitation Time = Time when pilot pressure is applied to the start of valve diaphragm movement.
Travel Time = Time when actuator begins movement to when it completely stops movement.
Hesitation times are approximately equal to Travel Times.
